French Green Clay, or Montmorillonite/Illite clay, originates from ancient, naturally occurring mineral bedrock deposits in France, particularly the southern regions. Known for its high absorbent properties, it is formed from decomposed plant matter (such as kelp seaweed and algae) and iron oxides, which give it its characteristic green colour.
French green clay is a highly absorbent, mineral-rich volcanic clay ideal for deep-cleansing oily, combination, and acne-prone skin. It effectively removes toxins, impurities, and excess oil from pores, balances sebum production, and gently exfoliates to improve skin texture and tone
